Welcome to Building Bridges
Welcome to the Building Bridges Islamic Initiative website, which has been setup to bring our community together. We hope that by looking through our website, you are encouraged to join us to create greater community cohesion and stronger friendships. In a time where inter-community relations are particularly strained, we hope that in Solihull we can work together to create a better and more prosperous community. The following trailer gives more details about our activities:
Celebrating the birth of Jesus event - a great success
On the 3rd December, Muslims and Christians came together from accross Solihull to revive the true spirit of Christmas by remembering the birth of Jesus (peace be upon him). Over 100 Christians came from across Solihull to listen to the Muslim view of the birth of Jesus, in the Holiday Inn in Solihull where presentations were given on the grandmother of Jesus as well as his mother and his birth. A presentation was also given on the various statements Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) related to Muslims as sayings Jesus Christ.
We would like to thank all of you who attended the event and we also hope that you had a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We also would like to thank all those who supported our initiative but were unable to attend including the Mayor of Solihull, Solihull MPs, Councillors, Faith Leaders, Head Teachers, Teachers, Hospital Staff, SMBC employees and others as well.
It is our intention that this understanding of Muslims and Islam and its strong link to Christianity is taken back to the workplace, something that is especially important in light of the current national and international events.
